Blessed be the Name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! How great it is to be a child of the living God! We have a Name we can call on no matter what our situation, no matter what our trial, no matter what our physical circumstances; Who will deliver us, comfort us, heal us, provide for us, and see us through to the Glory of His Name. His Word says in Matthew 11:28-30, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” And in I Peter 5:6-7 “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him for He cares for you.” Isn’t it wonderful to serve the One True God, who says we can give Him all our burdens and He will give us rest.
Dad has been having some severe health challenges. It’s easy to listen to the doctor’s report and to feel distressed. But we are not a people who have to sink into hopelessness, because we serve the Living Hope. Hebrews 6:19, “This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil…” Dad can tell you all about anchors. If it’s not heavy enough, or not attached securely to the boat it’s worthless. But the anchor we have is “sure and steadfast”. The Word of God is immovable. If He said it, we can stand on it, hold fast to it, and know that He will accomplish what He has purposed to accomplish. Isaiah 55:11, “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth, it shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” What does His Word say for a situation that looks overwhelming? Psalm 3:2-5, “Many are they who say of me, ‘There is no help for him in God.’ But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head. I cried to the Lord with my voice, and He heard me from His holy hill. I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustained me.” No matter what the report is we have a God who hears our cry and who will sustain us. Who cares if someone tells you your situation can’t change – they obviously haven’t met Jehovah Jireh, your provider, or El Shaddai, God Almighty. Maybe they should have an encounter with El Olam, the Everlasting God, who is Elohim, the One who created the heavens and the earth, what is impossible for Him? As Jehovah Shalom there is no situation He cannot bring peace into. Joshua found out firsthand that when you’re going into battle, even before you get there, the Lord has a plan. Joshua 5:13-15, “Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, ‘Are you for us or for our enemies?’ ‘Neither,’ he replied, ‘but as commander of the army of the LORD I have now come.’ Then Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence, and asked him, ‘What message does my Lord have for his servant?’ The commander of the LORD’s army replied, ‘Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy.’ And Joshua did so.” There is an army of the Lord that can be dispatched at the Word of the Lord. Hallelujah! Romans 8:31,
“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”
Will He fail us? Romans 5:5, “Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given for us.” Psalm 33:9, “For He spoke and it was done, He commanded and it stood fast.” Isaiah 40:8, “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the Word of our God stands forever.” Luke 1:37, “For with God, nothing will be impossible.” Isaiah 40:28, “Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary.”
Don’t you love His Word! I could just fill this whole newsletter up with His Word and wouldn’t have to worry about explaining a single thing because God is big enough to speak for Himself! His Word is true, all of it. If you’re going through a struggle, seek Him. Hebrews 11:6, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” He is big enough, tall enough and strong enough to carry your burden.
On May 19th, I had the privilege of going into the Dayton Ohio Women’s Prison with an organization called “Christmas Behind Bars”. They take in hygiene items and a nice sized bag of snacks for every inmate. We had a full house, at least 450 or better for each of the two services, well over 900 women in total. Even though some may say, “they only came for the snacks”, dad has always told me that’s just the bait. What they get in the Word of God is much more than they bargained for. As we just seen from Isaiah 55:11, His Word will accomplish what He has set it out to do. Many of them were touched and encouraged as they realized there is a God who will neither fail nor forsake them. We have this Hope!
Be full of the Living God, be immersed in the Living Water that gives life to your soul! Stir up the spirit within yourself by praising His Name & giving glory to the King who is “eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God”, (I Tim 1:17), who is our Savior, unto Him “be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen”, (Jude 1:25) I love His Word!!!! Be blessed brothers and sisters, rejoice in the hope and glory of our King!
